MEMBER ALERT

Local 1000 Council Meeting to be held June 27-28, 2009 in Manhattan Beach.  Key items to be discussed include a proposal to reduce the rate of membership dues and proposed amendments to the union's internal election policy.

The California State Employee Association's (CSEA) 65th General Council is fast approaching and will be held at the Bonaventure Hotel, in Los Angeles from September 4-7, 2009.

At this important meeting, member-elected delegates will be electing the statewide officers of CSEA (President, Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer) as well as adopting a 2-year budget for both CSEA and SEIU Local 1000.

The nomination period for this election ended February 13.  CSEUnited has a slate of candidates statewide who are running for these important leadership posts.  A list of our candidates will be released shortly.

Ballots will be mailed to members around mid-April and the balloting period ends in mid-May.
